Golf Betting Types
Outright Betting
All outright wagers are settled on the player winning the Tournament and includes any playoff.
Should the Tournament be reduced from the scheduled number of holes any wagers placed after the final completed round will be void.
If the scheduled number of holes in a Tournament are not completed all outright bets are void unless an official winner is declared, in which case outright bets will stand.
72 Holes Match Betting
The winner will be the player with the lowest score over 72 holes.
Should one player make the cut and his opponent miss it, the player making the cut shall be deemed the winner.
If both players miss the cut the player with the lowest 2 round score shall be deemed the winner, if both players miss the cut on the same score the tie shall be deemed the winner.
Both players must tee off in the 1st Round for the wager to have action, should one player withdraw before the start of the tournament all bets shall be void.
Should a player retire or be disqualified whilst his opponent is still in the tournament his opponent will be deemed the winner.
All 72 holes match bets have a tie line. If after 72 holes both players are level the tie line is the winner and wagers on the individual players deemed losers. However if both players are tied for the lead after 72 holes the winner of the playoff will be deemed the winner of the 72 holes match bet.
If a tournament is reduced from the scheduled number of holes all match bets shall be void as long as both players are still in the tournament.
18 Holes Match Betting
The player scoring the lowest score over the 18 holes stated will be deemed the winner.
Both players must tee off for the wager to have action. Should one player withdraw before the start of the round all wagers shall be void.
Should a player retire or be disqualified during the round the remaining player shall be deemed the winner. Irrespective of scores at the time.
A tie price is always quoted. Should both players shoot the same score over the 18 holes the tie line will be deemed the winner, and wagers on the named players losers.
Betting Each Way
This is a combination of Betting to Win and Betting on a Place Finish. You pay the same stake for each part of the bet. For example, £1 each way for a player winning at 10/1 would mean you get £10 for the win plus £2.50 for the place. If the player does not win but finishes in a place you lose the win bet, but win on the place bet.
Match Bet
Bet on whether one player will beat or tie another over a strokeplay tournament.
3 Ball Betting
For the first two days of most tournaments, golfers go out in groups of 3 players called 3 balls. This presents the betting opportunity called '3 balls'. A price is offered for each player to be the lowest scorer of the three over the eighteen holes. Dead-heat rules apply.
Should a player in the 3 ball not tee-off all bets in that 3 ball are void. However should a player retire during the round he will be deemed to have played.
In the event of a 3 ball being re-arranged all bets in that 3 ball will stand as per original pairings.
3 ball betting is where we offer odds on which of the 3 golfers scores the lowest score.
3 ball betting is always based on 18 holes/1 round. There is no tie selection offered.
Should there be a tie for the lowest score as follows; Player A 70, Player B 70, Player C 72 the Dead Heat rules Apply.
There cannot be a push in 3/2 ball betting
In the case above bets on:
Player A are paid out at half wagered amount to full odds with half wagered amount as a loser
Player B are paid out at half wagered amount to full odds with half wagered amount as a loser
Player C are losers
Should there be a tie for the lowest score eg; Player A 70, Player B 70, Player C 70 the Dead Heat rules Applys.
In this case bets on:
Player A are paid out at 1/3 wagered amount to full odds with 2/3 wagered amount as a loser
Player B are paid out at 1/3 wagered amount to full odds with 2/3 wagered amount as a loser
Player C are paid out at 1/3 wagered amount to full odds with 2/3 wagered amount as a loser
Should a player in the 3 ball not tee-off all bets in that 3 ball are void. However should a player retire during the round he will be deemed to have played.
In the event of a 3 ball being re-arranged all bets in that 3 ball will stand as per original pairings.
2 Ball Betting
For the final two days of most tournaments, golfers go out in groups of 2 players called 2 balls. A price is offered for both players to be the lower scorer over the round, as well as a price for a tie. Bets stand once the players have teed off the first hole. If a round is abandoned, bets on that round are void.
Group Betting
The bookmaker selects a group of players, gives them odds of beating the rest in the group and you have to pick the winner.
Combination Bet
As it sounds, a Combination Bet involves combining more than one of the above bets. You must win all the bets in the combination to win. The value of the payout is equal to all the individual odds multiplied together. For example if you bet Player A to win at 10/1 and Player B to beat Player C in a Match Bet at 4/1 then the overall odds would be 40/1 if both bets came through.
